Jökulsárlón on Breiðamerkursandur is a natural wonder, where huge icebergs float on the lagoon. The lagoon started to form around 1934 and is now around 200 meters deep by the edge of the glacier. There is a fjord underneath the glacier where the lagoon is even deeper.
Being a truly unique place, the glacier lagoon is one of the most visited destinations in Iceland. In winter and spring a very good possibility of reindeer opservation on the way to the Glacier lagoon. In spring, summer and autumn is possible to take a boat tour at the Glacier lagoon, sailing among seals and floating icebergs over thousand years old. In winter the Glacier lagoon is a sanctuary for hundreds of seals.
