Glacial experts from Vatnajokull Travel meet the group at Hornafjordur and start with a bus trip toward the Jöklasel Glacial Lodge. The drive up on to the glacier is an adventure in it self providing spectacular views. Our destination on the glacier is Jöklasel, the Glacial Lodge, at an elevation of 840 m above sea level. Facilities in the "glacier lodge" include a restaurant with an absolutely breathtaking view from the mountaintop to the open Atlantic Ocean, not to mention delicious food!

The tour then continues with a bus trip toward the Glacial Lagoon where you will take a memorable boat trip on the lagoon. The Glacial Lagoon is dotted with icebergs of all sizes from the calving glacier tongue. The lagoon is one of the most exotic attractions in Iceland and offers tremendous opportunities for photographing majestic icebergs. Seeing this mythical lake of icebergs is guaranteed to amaze even the most experienced traveler.

After taking in the unique experience of the Glacial Lagoon we return to the panoramic fishing town of Hornafjordur.
