In the summertime there are guided boat trips among the icebergs that nobody should miss! They are suitable for the whole family and take around 30-40 minutes. Great for photographing and viewing wildlife, as birdlife is rich and seals a common sight. There is a small café by the lagoon offering some souvenirs and refreshments. It is ideal to relax inthere and have some traditional refreshments as a their delicious seafood soup or freshly baked waffle with whipped cream.

Jökulsárlón in easily accessible, only 200 meters from the highway #1. It is located 60 kilometers east of Skaftafell National Park, and 80 kilometers south of Höfn in Hornafjordur.
